Sheddings
is an installation using detailed hand work; healing by mending. I burnt cotton in a traditional lace motif and cast the cloth over my own body, patching and re-patching repeatedly, creating a non-functional skin, a mending process that never heals. Delicate emptiness, patterns, layers, and veils discuss ideas of lace that conceal and reveal simultaneously. |
